Nick Wright and Cris Carter discuss the benching of New York Giants quarterback for quarterback Daniel Jones and if Eli should request to be traded instead of mentoring the rookie. Eli has a no trade clause in his contract and has previously expressed no interest in playing for another team.

Nick is right and Chris is wrong and being overly emotional. Please take heed to this comment because its hard to watch first things first with Chris Carter.

Chris Carter apparantly hasn't been watching the Giants for a while now, and is only leaning on those 2 rings. Sure he's won 2 superbowls, but as a QB and leader, he's no Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and most certainly not Peyton. I'm still sick to my stomach that Eli has more SB's than Peyton, for being a well below average QB, and Peyton up there in the top 5 of all time. And yeah, naturally, after being in the league for as long as he has, and for how utterly shambolic the Giants have been for the past 7 years, Eli should have been preparing for this. Nick Wright is correct.

Yes CC i agree with you. More respect to Eli for all he did for the Giants. The Win against the undefeated patriots was "Formidable".

You should remember Tiki Barber's opinion of Ellie Manning. I support Tiki's comments. Once upon a time, Tiki Barber was a very vocal critic of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning,'s causing quite a stir in the year after his retirement when he said Manning’s leadership attempts were comical. Have you ever seen a deer in the headlights look after Eli takes a sack? Eli 's last name Smith we wouldn't be having this conversation. The Giants won the super bowl despite Ellie's comical theatrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T65HMeHIrYs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJkGwCnM4SU

Buccaneers make the those three missed field goals and we would even be praising this dude Jones. Buccaneers kicker was horrible. Giants still have early quarter defensive problem. Eli didn't have the same tools and you never let him run. It's not like he can't. They wanted him to stay in the pocket most of the time.

I'm a Giant's fan, and i am interested in watching the game...not hearing what one of these idiots has to say either before or after the game. Get a life.

I think that Nick is right about this. I think that CC can not admit when he’s wrong, and I also think that Nick put himself in a bad position with CC from the beginning when he would make a comment and then CC would come behind him and disagree , Nick would always fold to CC because in Nicks head, CC has experience in the league. So now that Nick has grown into a great broadcast personality, CC thinks it’s because of the way he inadvertently taught Nick the way to look at things, and so now there is this unhealthy mentor/student vibe in one guys head and in the other it’s a grown man/grown man vibe. I’ll let you guys figure out who thinks what. But I really think that Nick brings a fresh approach to things via the average guys way of thinking. I mean he is exactly right in the fact that if Eli did not mentally prepare himself for being replaced at some point after the Giants picked up Daniel Jones, then he has done himself a grave dis service. And I also think he has it nailed that the reason the Giants kept Eli and paid him 22 million this year is because 1) they do not have to pay Daniel Jones that kind of money because of the rookie contract, and 2) They EXPECT ELI TO TAKE THIS KID AND MENTOR HIM AS PART OF THE REASON WHY HE GOT TO KEEP THAT 22 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL!!! .

That’s what’s kills me. Brady and that off team was NOT slayed by Manning. That Def with Tuck and Strahan slayed the Pats. QB get way to much credit man. That Def sat in their hotel room listening to all the talk about the Pats and went out and got them WITH Eli and the Off.

Carter goes on and on about "what did Eli do to lose the job?" and "what did Jones do to win the job?" Eli's been lousy, and he's not going to get better at 38. Naming the veteran as the starter, then yanking him when he fails is standard procedure. Why is it so hard for some people to grasp it?

I always loved CC.... I'm from Columbus Ohio so... he's a Buckeye you know.... and I also loved watching him play in the NFL.... but man..... as a commentator he can come across sooooooo arrogant and annoying..... he needs to check his condescending "I know more than you" tone.... its makes it hard for virtually ANYBODY to like him...

Hey Eli, cut your defense a check from that 22 million you’re making. 2008 super bowl(Justin Tuck) and those guys were dead tired by the 4th quarter of that game. If you just got a couple of first downs it’s a 10-7 game victory. No miracle throw.

If you really think that you shouldn't be mentally prepared for every situation you are likely to be in, you are a fool. In any job, you should be prepared to be let go, because if you aren't, then you aren't going to do well afterwards.

Everybody commenting about how Cris Carter is annoying. Maybe, but I personally can’t stand to listen to people who didn’t play a pro sport (clearly guy on right hasn’t) talk about situations they’ve never been in, or make analogies for those things. It proves how clueless they are. Cris had to set the guy straight. Sure you should financially prepare for life after football, with your spouse or accountant or agent or whomever, you know, during the offseason. But when you’re a competitor going to work every day, why in the world should you show up with your hard hat and a loser mentality of “well I’m going to lose my job soon”..? Anyone who thinks that is an idiot.

Is Cris Carter trying to be stupid on purpose for views? Eli Manning who is pushing 40 with this terrible play in the last 5 years, whose team just drafted a QB, really did not think this would happen soon? Cris Carter really thinks that??
